Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – Statutory & Tax Audit to independently manage statutory and tax audit assignments for mid-sized to large clients. The candidate will be responsible for audit planning, execution, review, client coordination, team management, and ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of 4–5 interns/team members, allocate assignments, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of audit engagements.
- Plan, execute, and monitor Statutory Audits and Tax Audits in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Independently manage and execute statutory and tax audits for mid-sized to large clients.
- Handle and review Income Tax Return (ITR) filings, tax computations, and related documentation.
- Review audit working papers, financial statements, tax computations, and supporting schedules for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Ensure audits are completed within agreed timelines by setting milestones, resolving bottlenecks, and effectively coordinating with clients.
- Identify audit risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities, and provide practical recommendations.
- Coordinate directly with clients to obtain audit requirements, resolve queries, discuss findings, and provide value-added recommendations.
- Review team members' work and ensure adherence to audit methodology, documentation standards, and quality requirements.
- Mentor, train,



and develop junior team members to improve technical knowledge and audit execution capabilities.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and ensure a high level of service throughout the engagement.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, Companies Act requirements, and audit regulations.

Required Skills & Experience
- Solid hands-on experience in Statutory Audit and Tax Audit.
- Good understanding of Income Tax, ITR filing, financial statements, and audit procedures.
- Experience independently handling audit assignments from planning through completion.
- Experience working with mid-sized to large clients.
- Strong team-handling and mentoring skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and review skills.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/audit software.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to audit quality.

Candidate Profile
- Qualified CA / Chartered Accountant preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant post-qualification experience in Statutory & Tax Audit.
- Prior experience in an Audit Manager / Team Lead / Assistant Manager – Audit capacity will be preferred.
- Candidates must be currently based in Mumbai.
