Teamcenter Administrator

YOU'LL BE OUR: Teamcenter Administrator

YOU'LL BE BASED AT: Bengaluru

YOU'LL BE ALIGNED WITH: PLM Manager / IT Manager

YOU'LL BE THE MEMBER OF: Corporate IT / PLM Team A Teamcenter Administrator owns the health, security, and performance of the organization's Siemens Teamcenter PLM environment. The role sits at the intersection of application administration, systems administration (both Windows and Linux), and engineering data management. The Administrator keeps Teamcenter servers, four-tier architecture, and integrations running reliably, while supporting design and manufacturing engineers who depend on Teamcenter for CAD data management, BOM management, and change control.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AT ATHER:

Teamcenter Application Administration

- Install, configure, and maintain Teamcenter four-tier architecture Rich Client, Web Tier (Active Workspace), Enterprise Tier (server manager/pool manager), and Resource Tier (FMS, volumes)
- Lead new Teamcenter environment installations, corporate server setup, version upgrades, and patch rollouts across development, test, and production landscapes
- Diagnose and resolve recurring and complex issues across the Teamcenter environment — server startup failures, dataset/vault corruption, licensing errors, workflow hangs, and performance degradation
- Extend and maintain the Business Modeler IDE (BMIDE) data model — item types, attributes, LOVs, rule handlers, and workflow templates — and deploy updates without disrupting production
- Manage users, groups, roles, projects, and access control (ACLs, conditions) across the Teamcenter organization tree
- Configure and troubleshoot EPM workflow templates, revision rules, and release/change processes (ECR/ECN, item revisions)
- Support Teamcenter integration with NX, CATIA V5/V6, and multi-CAD data management

Windows & Linux Infrastructure Support
- Administer Teamcenter application and database servers on both Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/Rocky/Ubuntu), including service accounts, environment variables,

and file/volume permissions
- Monitor Pool Manager/Server Manager processes, FSC/FMS transfer performance, CPU/memory/disk utilization, and database (Oracle/MSSQL) query performance to prevent slowdowns for end users
- Execute scheduled OS and Teamcenter patching, corporate server updates, and automated backup/restore routines (database, volumes, TC_DATA) with minimal engineering downtime
- Perform Teamcenter server log diagnostics — database query performance, missing type definitions, invalid XRT property references, vault configuration, and FTSI search-index issues

Integration, Scripting & Compliance
- Support and troubleshoot Teamcenter integrations to downstream systems — SAP (BOM/material sync), Jira (ECN/engineering change tracking), and MES (BOP/BOE process data) — built on Teamcenter SOA APIs
- Support ITK and custom .so shared-library builds on Linux (LD_LIBRARY_PATH, SONAME, RPATH, C++ ABI compatibility), and write Shell/Python/Perl scripts for log cleanup, batch jobs, and middleware daemon monitoring
- Administer and troubleshoot CAD-to-PLM integrations — NX (NX Connector) and CATIA (CATIA V5/V6 Integration) — including Teamcenter Share, for design data check-in/check-out, structure sync, and revision management
- Ensure audit-ready traceability of engineering data changes in line with ISA-95 and applicable automotive/manufacturing quality standards

End-User & L1/L2 Support (Nice to Have)
- Triage and resolve L1/L2 Teamcenter incidents — login/access issues, check-in/check-out failures, slow searches, workflow stalls — escalating true L3 platform issues appropriately

- Produce SOPs and quick-reference guides for engineering end users (e.g., updating Teamcenter Share from NX) and onboard new users to Teamcenter workflows
- Own the Teamcenter queue in the ITSM tool, track SLAs, and coordinate with infrastructure/DBA teams on cross-functional issues

HERE'S WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Teamcenter installations, upgrades, and administration, along with a strong track record of diagnosing and resolving issues across the Teamcenter environment (application, workflow, integration, and infrastructure layers)
- Working experience administering and supporting Teamcenter integrations with NX and CATIA
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Teamcenter Rich Client & Active Workspace, BMIDE, ITK/SOA development, EPM Workflow Designer, Access Manager, and Structure Manager
- Proficiency in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 administration — IIS, services & scheduled tasks, Active Directory/LDAP integration, PowerShell
- Proficiency in Linux administration — RHEL, Ubuntu Server, SUSE, systemd, cron, LVM, SSH, and shared-library builds (.so, LD_LIBRARY_PATH)
- Experience with Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL — schema management, backup/restore, and query performance tuning
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Java, Bash, Python, Perl, and SQL
- Familiarity with Teamcenter SOA APIs, REST APIs, Apache POI, Jackson/JSON, and integrations with SAP BOM sync, Jira, and MES/MOM connectivity (valuable to have)
- Working knowledge of NX Connector, CATIA V5/V6 Integration, Teamcenter Share, and multi-CAD data management
- Solid understanding of networking, TCP/IP, server & storage fundamentals, FMS/volume configuration, and basic troubleshooting
- Familiarity with ISA-95, automotive ISO/TS standards, and engineering change control (ECR/ECN)

YOU BRING TO ATHER:

- Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience
- 3-5 years of experience
