Role & responsibilities
- Surveying &
- Mapping: Conduct accurate topographic, boundary, and detailed operational surveys of open-cast iron ore mines using Total Station, DGPS, and 3D Laser Scanners/Drones.
- Volumetric Estimation: Perform precise monthly measurements for bench advancement, topsoil removal, overburden (OB) dumping, and iron ore pit excavations. Calculate stockpile volumes using AutoCAD and mining software.
- Statutory Plans &
- Compliance: Prepare, update, and maintain statutory plans, sections, and drawings as required under MMR 1961, MCDR 2017, IBM, and DGMS regulations. Ensure timely submission of annual/periodic return plans to regulatory authorities.
- Bench &
- Pit Monitoring: Set out control points, pit boundaries, bench heights, slope geometry,
and haul road gradients to ensure secure and systematic opencast mining operations.
- Exploration &
- Drilling Layouts: Mark borehole locations for exploration, blast-hole layouts, and mine development faces in coordination with the geology and mining operations teams.
- Land Acquisition &
- Lease Boundary Marking: Verify mine lease boundary pillars, forest diversion land, and non-forest land boundaries in alignment with ORSAC and state forest department coordinates.
- Reconciliation &
- Reporting: Reconcile monthly excavation figures with production and dispatch teams. Maintain survey registers and field books systematically.
