Job Purpose:

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is looking for a agile, results-driven Software Unit Testing Engineer to support software unit verification for Model-Based Development application software at the Technical Centre India in Bengaluru. In this role, you will plan, develop, execute and report unit verification activities for controller, sensor, actuator and diagnostic modules used in BorgWarner PowerDrive System products. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to global customer programs across hybrid and electric vehicle solutions while working with TPT based dynamic testing, Polyspace based static testing and MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow based software verification.

Key Responsibility:

- Analyze software requirements, design inputs and model interfaces to define effective unit test scope and test strategy.
- Develop and maintain TPT test cases, test harnesses, signal mapping and expected outputs for MIL/SIL based dynamic unit testing.
- Perform software unit testing using TPT and static analysis using Polyspace Bug Finder / Code Prover as applicable.
- Review and analyze test results, coverage reports, Polyspace findings and deviations; support closure with software developers.
- Support unit level verification for MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow based MBD software, including generated C code where required.
- Create and maintain unit test specifications, test reports,



static analysis reports and traceability evidence as per project process.
- Estimate software unit testing effort, track progress and support quality reviews for global customer projects.

What we are looking for:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; master’s degree is also acceptable.
- Minimum 2 years project experience in ECU software unit testing, software verification or embedded software testing in the automotive industry.
- Working knowledge of embedded C programming and ability to understand generated C code / hand-written C code for unit testing.
- Basic awareness of MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow models, signal flow, data types and auto-code verification.
- Project experience in MBD software verification or unit testing.
- Project experience in TPT based dynamic unit testing and Polyspace based static testing.
- Familiarity with MIL/SIL test environments, coverage analysis and defect reporting workflow is preferred.
- Experience in AUTOSAR software concepts, RTE interfaces or component level testing is preferred.
- Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, especially software verification process and traceability, is preferred.
- Experience on powertrain or electrification control features, diagnostics and simulation-based verification is preferred.




- Experience with scripting languages such as Python for test automation, data preparation or report generation is preferred.
