Kristal.AI is looking for an innovative, passion-driven QA engineer to help us build a unique and holistic investment management ecosystem across the globe. We want someone who has an intuition for what a user needs even before the user can think of it, thereby providing our users an exclusive and enriching experience. Our diverse team comprises 100+ people spread across three countries, backed by a strong and supportive management team with a combined 50+ years of work experience at JP Morgan, Citibank, BNP Paribas, Yahoo, Cognizant, and IBM Security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Test Planning and Strategy: Create detailed, well-structured test plans and test cases covering functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios.

- Test Execution: Perform in-depth manual testing across web and mobile platforms (iOS/Android) — UI, functional, usability, performance, and basic security - and manage defects in Jira.

- Automation Support: Assist in writing and maintaining basic automated test scripts for API and UI flows, and collaborate with the QA lead to expand automation coverage.

- Data Validation: Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data and cross-check report/API outputs against the database.

- Review requirements and technical design documents to provide timely, meaningful feedback before development begins.

- Reproduce customer-reported issues, verify fixes, and provide accurate information in response to customer/support queries.

- Collaboration:



Work closely with Development, Product, and other cross-functional/remote teams to deliver a high-quality product within committed timelines.

- Effective Time Management: Handle multiple projects/features in parallel while ensuring timely, reliable delivery.

QUALIFICATION

- B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

- 1 to 2 years of experience in functional/manual QA for web or mobile applications

- Basic hands-on experience in automation testing, including API automation (e.g., Postman, RestAssured) and UI/Mobile app automation (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Appium, Cucumber)

- Good understanding of the complete SDLC/STLC and strong fundamentals in functional QA (test planning, test design, defect lifecycle).

- Basic understanding of database concepts, with hands-on experience writing SQL queries (PostgreSQL) to validate data and perform minor data updates

- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

- Positive verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document test cases, bugs, and results clearly

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Knowledge of Fintech / Stock Markets / Investments

- Wealth Management / Banking domain knowledge

- Prior hands-on experience in manual testing of mobile applications (iOS/Android), including functional, usability, and regression testing

- Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman or similar

- Basic knowledge of AWS or other cloud environments

- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
