About the Role

GenAirate Technologies builds SnapLine, an AI-powered submission intelligence platform that converts unstructured broker submissions, emails, PDFs, Excel files, images, into structured, decision-ready data for underwriters, and Atlas, a geospatial commercial property risk intelligence platform for insurance underwriters. We work with Lloyd's and London Market customers and are expanding into US specialty insurance.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to build core product logic and backend systems across SnapLine and Atlas, working closely with our AI, infra, and product teams.

What You'll Do

- Design and build backend services and APIs that power SnapLine's document extraction pipeline and Atlas's risk intelligence layers
- Work on core product logic: entity resolution, data validation, schema design, and business rules that turn raw extracted data into decision-ready output
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code, and participate actively in code reviews
- Debug and resolve production issues across the backend, working with logs and metrics to find root causes
- Collaborate with product (Robbie) and engineering leadership (James, Adnan, Roman) to turn requirements into working systems




- Work with data coming out of AI pipelines (extraction results, confidence scores) and build the logic that handles edge cases, review queues, and data quality checks

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Solid backend fundamentals: Python or Node.js, API design, working with relational and/or document databases
- Experience building systems that process and validate data at scale, not just CRUD apps
- Comfort working with messy, real-world data and designing logic for edge cases
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS or GCP) and Git-based workflows
- Ability to work independently, ask good questions, and take ownership of features end to end

Bonus Points

- Exposure to AI/LLM-powered products or document processing pipelines
- Experience with insurance, fintech, or other regulated, related financial industries
- Interest in data quality, validation logic, or rules engines

What We're Not Looking For

- Candidates looking for a narrowly scoped role. This is a small, fast-moving team, and you'll be expected to work across the backend stack and take ownership of problems end to end, not just execute tickets.
