Role Description The SMT Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines for electronic assemblies in a full time, on-site role based in Noida. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and fine-tuning SMT machines, creating and updating process parameters, and monitoring line performance to ensure quality, throughput, and yield targets are met. The role involves analyzing defects, conducting root cause investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions, and continuously improving processes to minimize downtime and rework.

The engineer collaborates with production, quality, maintenance, and design teams to support new product introductions, validate PCB designs for manufacturability,



and ensure compliance with relevant standards. The position also requires maintaining documentation, training operators and technicians on best practices, and supporting audits and customer requirements related to SMT operations.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of SMT processes, including stencil design, solder paste application, pick-and-place programming, and reflow profiling.
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment (e.g., screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens) and related troubleshooting.
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing standards and quality tools such as IPC standards, SPC, Six Sigma basics, and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in analyzing production data, using process control charts, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to read and interpret PCB layouts, assembly drawings, and technical documentation for electronic products.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing of mobile phones, consumer electronics, or similar products is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively on the shop floor and with cross-functional teams.
- Comfort with on-site work in a fast-paced production environment and willingness to support extended or shift hours when required.
