B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics or a related engineering discipline; PG qualification in Quality Management preferred; Six Sigma / Lean certification desirable

Position Summary

Sr. Manager / General Manager – QA/R&D; & MR will own end-to-end product quality and reliability for TIBCON’s AC film capacitor range — from incoming raw material inspection through in-process control, new product/sample development, and field performance. The role also carries full Management Representative (MR) responsibility for ISO 9001 (QMS) and ISO 14001 (EMS), and acts as the primary technical interface with customers on new development programs and complaint resolution.

This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the COO/Director and carrying accountability for quality, reliability and compliance outcomes across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

1. Receiving (Incoming) Quality

- Establish and enforce incoming quality control (IQC) standards for raw materials — polypropylene film, aluminium/zinc metallised film, foils, resins, terminals and packaging materials.
- Define acceptance sampling plans (AQL), inspection SOPs and vendor quality scorecards; drive supplier corrective action (SCAR/8D) for recurring rejections.
- Own vendor quality qualification and periodic requalification in coordination with Purchase and R&D.;

In-Process Quality & Product Reliability

- Set up and monitor in-process quality checkpoints across winding, metallisation/slitting, winding / spray, assembly and final testing stages.
- Drive process capability (Cp/Cpk), SPC and defect-reduction initiatives to improve first-pass yield and reduce line rejections.
- Own reliability testing protocols (life testing, thermal cycling, voltage endurance, humidity/damp-heat) and interpret results to certify product performance against IEC/customer standards.
- Lead root-cause analysis (8D/5-Why/Fishbone) for field failures and internal rejections; ensure closure with sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

3. New Product / Sample Development

- Lead R&D; and new sample development for AC film and power electronics capacitors, from design input through prototype build and validation.
- Manage the sample-to-customer submission cycle — PPAP/APQP-equivalent documentation, design records, test reports and approval tracking.
- Drive value engineering (VE/VA) initiatives to optimise material cost, process cycle time and design efficiency without compromising performance or reliability.
- Collaborate with Design, Production and Purchase to translate customer specifications into manufacturable, cost-effective product designs.

4. Management Representative – ISO 9001 & ISO 14001

- Act as Management Representative (MR) for the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
- Own the QMS/EMS documentation structure, internal audit calendar, management review meetings and certification/surveillance audit readiness.
- Track quality objectives,



KPIs and environmental compliance metrics; report system performance and improvement plans to top management.
- Drive organisation-wide awareness, training and adherence to ISO 9001/14001 requirements and applicable statutory/regulatory obligations.

5. Customer Interface – Technical Discussions & Complaints

- Represent the company on customer visits for technical discussions relating to new product development, design validation and qualification.
- Own customer complaint investigation and resolution — timely response, root-cause analysis, corrective action and closure reporting.
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customer quality/engineering teams to support long-term partnership and repeat business.

Candidate Profile

- 15+ years of experience in the AC film capacitor / power electronics / electrical & electronic components manufacturing industry, with at least 5–7 years in a senior QA/R&D; leadership role.
- Proven, hands-on experience as an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Management Representative, including successful certification/surveillance audits.
- Strong technical grounding in capacitor design, dielectric film properties, metallisation, winding processes and reliability/life testing.
- Track record of new product/sample development and successful customer PPAP-style approvals.
- Demonstrated value engineering achievements with measurable cost or yield impact.
- Excellent customer-facing and cross-functional leadership skills; comfortable engaging directly with customer quality and engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of IEC standards applicable to power/AC capacitors (e.g., IEC 60252, IEC 61071 or equivalent) is preferred.
