We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented

Procurement Engineer to manage the end-to-end procurement of engineering materials, equipment, components, and services. The role will be responsible for technical sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, purchase order management, and ensuring the timely availability of materials while meeting required quality, cost, and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOMs, and material requirements in coordination with Engineering, Production, Projects, and Quality teams.

- Source and identify suitable suppliers for engineering materials, equipment, components, and services.

- Float RFQs/RFPs, obtain quotations, prepare techno-commercial comparisons, and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, technical capability, and delivery timelines.

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with vendors.

- Prepare and release Purchase Orders and ensure timely order execution and material delivery.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new vendors.

- Conduct vendor evaluation, supplier performance reviews, and support vendor development initiatives.

- Track critical and long-lead items and follow up with suppliers to avoid delays in production or project schedules.

- Coordinate with Engineering teams for technical clarifications and with Quality/Stores teams for inspection and material receipt.

- Monitor procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and value optimization without compromising quality.





- Maintain procurement records, vendor databases, quotations, comparative statements, POs, and other relevant documentation.

- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, quality standards, and applicable statutory requirements.

- Prepare regular MIS and reports on procurement status, cost savings, vendor performance, and delivery performance.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in

Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a relevant Engineering discipline

.

- 3–7 years of experience in Technical Procurement, Purchase, Sourcing, or Supply Chain.

- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, project, industrial equipment, or related workplace will be preferred.

- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs.

Required Skills

- Strong technical sourcing and procurement knowledge.

- Knowledge of Purchase Orders, RFQs, quotations, and procurement processes.

- Familiarity with

ERP/SAP (preferably SAP MM)

- Good knowledge of MS Excel and procurement MIS/reporting.

- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Competencies

- Knowledge of supplier quality and vendor performance management.

- Understanding of inventory, lead times, and supply chain planning.

- Ability to manage multiple procurement requirements and meet strict delivery timelines.
