About The Role
We're hiring a
Principal Architect
to lead the architectural vision, design, and evolution of Teradata's core database platform at enterprise scale. This is a senior individual-contributor role for a deeply technical leader who can shape long-term platform strategy, set engineering standards, and influence outcomes across global teams. You'll be the highest-level technical authority on database internals, query optimization,



and large-scale workload architecture—solving the problems that define what's possible in contemporary data platforms.

What You'll Do
- Architect at enterprise scale – Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Teradata core database architectures supporting massive, mission-critical workloads
- Own performance and reliability – Drive query performance tuning, workload management, and system reliability, ensuring high availability and operational excellence across global deployments
- Set technical strategy – Act as the principal database subject matter expert, guiding architectural decisions and shaping long-term platform evolution
- Lead through influence – Partner with engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions
- Define what excellence looks like – Consistently deliver high-impact architectural outcomes, raise the engineering bar, and enable innovation across teams
