Job Description – Safety Officer

Department: EHS / Safety
Industry: Pharmaceutical – Formulation Manufacturing
Location: Mahape, Navi Mumbai
Experience: 2–5 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Safety, Fire & Safety, Environmental Science or relevant qualification

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation of EHS policies, safety procedures and SOPs across the manufacturing facility.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of production, warehouse, utility and other plant areas.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by employees, contractors and visitors.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety training and awareness programs.
- Monitor fire-fighting systems, emergency equipment and safety installations.
- Conduct mock drills such as fire, chemical spillage and emergency evacuation.
- Maintain safety-related records, inspection reports and statutory documentation.
- Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and prepare reports.
- Coordinate with Production,



Engineering, QA, HR and other departments for safety compliance.
- Monitor safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Factory Act, Maharashtra safety requirements and EHS standards.
- Support internal, customer and regulatory audits related to safety and EHS.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of industrial safety, fire safety and chemical safety.
- Experience in pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing will be preferred.
- Knowledge of PPE, risk assessment, emergency preparedness and incident investigation.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments.

Work Location: Mahape, Navi Mumbai

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
