Job Summary

The House of Makeba is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, consistency, and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working in a Fine-Dining Restaurant kitchen in Ahmedabad and should have strong knowledge of kitchen management, menu planning, food costing, team handling, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the complete kitchen team and day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Maintain fine-dining standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Plan menus and develop current dishes in line with the restaurant's concept.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standardized recipes and portion controls.
- Manage food costing, inventory, wastage, and portion control.
- Ensure proper storage, FIFO/FEFO,



and freshness of all food products.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Train, supervise, and develop chefs, commis, kitchen helpers, and other kitchen staff.
- Prepare kitchen rosters and effectively manage manpower.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Store, F&B; Service, and Management teams.
- Monitor kitchen performance during peak hours and ensure timely food dispatch.
- Handle food-related guest feedback and take corrective action.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections and ensure SOP compliance.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate for repairs and maintenance.
- Assist in menu costing, new menu development, promotions, and special events.
- Control food wastage and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Ensure discipline, grooming, cleanliness, and professional conduct within the kitchen team.
