Role & responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of fruits and vegetables.
• Source quality produce at competitive prices from farmers, suppliers, and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Monitor market prices, seasonal trends, demand, and availability.
• Ensure optimum stock levels, freshness, quality, and minimal wastage.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Coordinate with Stores, Supply Chain, Quality, and Merchandising teams.
• Analyse sales, margins, inventory, shrinkage, and wastage to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and company procurement standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of fruits & vegetables and fresh produce markets
Experience in retail buying/procurement
Solid negotiation and vendor-management skills
Understanding of seasonal sourcing, pricing, quality, and margins
Good analytical and communication skills
Experience with large-format retail, supermarket, hypermarket, or FMCG preferred
