Position Purpose:
Join the Core Engineering Engine driving the next generation of Artificial Intelligence within BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). We are spearheading the establishment of the Agentic Project Center of Excellence (CoE), moving beyond static automation to build a sophisticated ecosystem of autonomous, reasoning agents designed to navigate complex financial workflows.
In this role, you will go beyond traditional API development to architect the " intelligence backbone" : the high-performance, scalable, and resilient infrastructure enabling Large Language Models (LLMs) and multi-agent systems to seamlessly interact with the bank’s enterprise data and tools.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical cornerstone of the AI Platform team as a Senior Developer.
- Engineer the orchestration layer that supports the Agentic CoE’s vision.
- Bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and production-grade software engineering.
- Build frameworks that allow agents to use tools, maintain state, and execute complex multi-step reasoning tasks.
- Work deeply within the Python ecosystem to turn experimental AI workflows into robust, enterprise-ready services.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from top-tier colleges.
- 5+ years of Java/C++ and 5+ years of Python, with the ability to build scalable, maintainable, production-grade systems.
Core Programming:
- Deep understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms and their appropriate use cases.
- In-depth understanding of Java (Object Oriented Programming)
principles is required along with the elements of the Java ecosystem.
- Ability to switch from Java to Python (and vice versa), experience using both programming languages is required and previous experience with other languages (e.g. C/C++) would be plus.
- Experience with Concurrency and Parallel Processing (Multithreading, Multiprocessing, Async Programming, and synchronization).
- Ability to design LLM orchestration frameworks using LangGraph (or Google ADK or CrewAI), LangChain, agent workflows, tool integration, and state management.
- Robust understanding of RESTful architecture, API lifecycle management, versioning, authentication, authorization, and API security. Ability to design secure, scalable, enterprise-grade APIs (FastMCP).
- Ability to architect enterprise-scale AI platforms with governance, observability, security, scalability, and banking-grade operational controls.
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems involving nested data structures, large-scale data processing, and system performance bottlenecks.

- Results-oriented with experience operating in complex and diverse IT systems environments.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Programming Languages: Previous experience with other languages such as C/C++.
- AI Frameworks: Experience with LlamaIndex.
- Data & Middleware: SQL (PostgreSQL) and Message Oriented Middleware knowledge.
- Frontend: Creating interactive UIs with frameworks like React, Vue, or Svelte.
