Job Title :Senior Chartered Accountant & Team Lead Audit
Location: Indore

Job Summary
As part of our team expansion, we are seeking a Senior Chartered Accountant and Team Lead to head our audit and financial compliance function in Indore. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of progressive, diverse experience in audit, accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance, with a strong track record of leading teams and owning end-to-end audit engagements. This role is instrumental in driving audit quality, financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic planning in the Indian context, while mentoring and managing a team of accounting and audit professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Lead, plan, and execute statutory, internal, and management audits end-to-end, from scoping and risk assessment through fieldwork, reporting, and closure.
- Build and lead a team of audit and accounting professionals assign engagements, review workpapers, and ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Design and implement robust internal audit frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and control testing procedures across the organization.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external/statutory auditors, managing the annual audit process, resolving queries, and ensuring timely completion.
- Critically review audit findings, identify control gaps, and drive implementation of corrective actions and process improvements.
- Establish and monitor audit calendars, checklists, and standard operating procedures to strengthen audit governance.
- Present audit findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior management and, where relevant, the audit committee/leadership.
- Stay current on auditing standards (SA/ICAI standards), regulatory changes, and industry best practices, and embed them into the audit approach.
Advanced Accounting Functions
- Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of complete and accurate ledger accounts across the organization.
- Ensure financial transactions and statement preparation comply with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/GAAP).
- Develop, implement, and periodically review accounting policies and internal control mechanisms.
Taxation Expertise
- Oversee preparation, review, and timely filing of direct and indirect tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and applicable international tax laws.
- Provide strategic tax planning advice to management, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Monitor legislative changes in tax laws and proactively assess their impact on company operations.
Statutory Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure strict compliance with all statutory and regulatory financial requirements, including company return filings.
- Oversee statutory registrations, renewals, and related documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on compliance and reporting matters.
Financial Analysis, Reporting and Team Management
- Perform and review financial analysis to support key business decisions.
- Prepare and present regular financial and audit reports to senior leadership, offering insights into the company's financial health and control environment.
- Lead budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Mentor, train, and develop junior team members, fostering technical growth and building a high-performing audit and accounting team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification from a recognized accounting body (ICAI or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in audit, accounting, taxation, and compliance, including demonstrated experience leading audit engagements and managing teams, preferably in an international or multi-entity setting.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in internal and statutory audit methodologies, risk-based auditing, and controls testing.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software, ERP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven leadership and people-management skills, with experience mentoring and supervising a team.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in English and local languages.
