Position Summary

The PYP Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for planning, facilitating and assessing engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences for students in the assigned primary grade. The teacher will support the academic, social, emotional and personal development of students while implementing the philosophy, framework and principles of the IB

Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The role requires a student-centred approach, solid classroom management, effective collaboration with colleagues and regular engagement with parents to support each child's overall development.
Key Responsibilities

A. Teaching & Learning
Plan and facilitate engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework.
Develop and implement transdisciplinary units of inquiry in collaboration with the PYP team.




Deliver age-appropriate learning experiences across core areas as required for the assigned grade.
Promote conceptual understanding, critical thinking, creativity, communication and problem-solving skills.
Integrate the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into classroom practices.
Encourage students to become independent, reflective and responsible learners.
Differentiate instruction to address diverse learning needs, abilities and learning styles.
Integrate appropriate technology and hands-on learning experiences into teaching.

B. Assessment & Student Progress
Plan and implement formative and summative assessment strategies.
Monitor and document students' academic progress and overall development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment records and student portfolios.
Provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
Prepare student progress reports in accordance with sch
