Senior AI Trainer – Editors & Technical Writers

Role Overview

Turing is looking for Senior AI Trainers – Editors & Technical Writers to support a frontier AI data initiative. This role is ideal for senior Technical Writers, Editors, Documentation Engineers, and Content Strategy professionals with deep expertise in technical documentation, editorial standards, content governance, and documentation architecture.

The selected experts will design, evaluate, and refine high-difficulty tasks that help improve the reliability, accuracy, and usefulness of advanced AI systems working with complex corporate and technical content.

You will work with documentation platforms, developer portals, style guides, release notes, Slack, email, repository READMEs, and other cross-functional communication environments.

? MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

- 8–15 years of hands-on qualified experience in Technical Writing, Editorial Strategy, Content Architecture, or Documentation Engineering.
- Strong experience owning, creating, or maintaining enterprise style guides.
- Hands-on knowledge of established editorial standards such as:
- Microsoft Manual of Style
- Google Developer Documentation Style Guide
- Chicago Manual of Style
- Strong expertise in content governance frameworks and editorial standards.
- Deep experience with technical documentation and single-sourcing.
- Hands-on experience with documentation systems/tools such as:
- Markdown
- Docs-as-Code
- DITA
- Notion
- Confluence
- Proven ability to translate highly technical and complex subjects into clear, structured, accessible content.




- Experience producing senior/executive-level documentation, including:
- API & technical specifications
- Architecture documentation
- Developer guides
- Style guides
- Content migration plans
- Comprehensive editorial reviews
- Advanced ability to evaluate content for:
- Technical accuracy
- Voice and tone
- Structure and organization
- Terminology consistency
- Accessibility
- Editorial quality
- Must be available for at least 4 hours per day and up to 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to provide 4 hours of daily overlap with PST.
- Must be available to start immediately.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or similar analytical work.
- Experience creating high-difficulty prompts and complex editing scenarios for AI models.
- Experience developing gold-standard evaluation rubrics for AI systems.
- Strong understanding of AI-generated content evaluation and quality calibration.
- Experience working in enterprise, developer, software, or highly technical environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Create high-difficulty expert tasks and gold-standard solutions covering technical documentation, content strategy, editorial standards, and structural editing.
- Review, calibrate, and critique work produced by other team members.




- Ensure rigorous editorial and technical quality across project deliverables.
- Define task context, reference materials, expected outputs, and evaluation criteria.
- Develop rubrics that clearly distinguish exceptional, acceptable, and deficient work.
- Verify task feasibility, technical accuracy, and real-world practicality.
- Work with technical inputs, tools, and simulated documentation environments.
- Identify and escalate editorial edge cases, rubric ambiguities, and domain-specific issues to the Functional SME Lead.
- Participate in calibration and revision cycles.
- Incorporate feedback to continuously improve task complexity, accuracy, and editorial precision.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent practical experience.
