Senior Accountant

Location: Behala, Kolkata, West Bengal

Salary: ₹4,00,000 – ₹5,00,000 per annum

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, GST compliance, financial records, reconciliations, and other accounting activities. The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, GST, taxation, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
- Handle GST-related accounting and compliance, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation, and related documentation.
- Prepare and review invoices, vouchers, ledgers, and accounting entries.
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
- Assist in monthly and annual closing of accounts.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for audit and statutory requirements.
- Support TDS, income tax, and other applicable statutory compliance activities.
- Prepare MIS reports and other financial statements as required by management.
- Coordinate with auditors, vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding accounting-related matters.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of accounting activities.




- Handle other finance and accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Strong practical knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Good understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, accounts payable/receivable, and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally or equivalent ERP/accounting systems.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.

Candidate Profile
- Candidates with hands-on experience in GST and complete accounting operations will be preferred.
- Candidates who can independently manage accounting activities and statutory compliance are encouraged to apply.
- Accommodation support will be available for suitable candidates relocating from outside Kolkata.
