About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with hands-on experience in Canadian Accounting and General Accounting Operations. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Journal Entries, Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Month-End Close and Financial Reporting, along with working knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and GST/HST.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day full-cycle accounting activities for Canadian clients/entities.
- Prepare and post Journal Entries, Accruals, Prepayments and Accounting Adjustments.
- Perform General Ledger, Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Support Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Close activities.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
- Support GST/HST-related accounting activities and reconciliations.
- Review accounting transactions and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain supporting schedules for financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Support Intercompany Accounting and reconciliations where applicable.
- Assist with year-end close and external audit/review requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients, auditors and other finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting policies and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.




- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

Key Software QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets; experience with other accounting or ERP systems will also be considered.

Accounting & Compliance Knowledge

Canadian Accounting, General Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Full-Cycle Accounting, Journal Entries, Accrual Accounting, Bank Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Financial Reporting, Month-End Close, GST/HST, ASPE, IFRS, Intercompany Accounting, Internal Controls, Audit Documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA in Finance, Accounting or Commerce.
- CPA, CPA-track candidates or candidates pursuing a relevant Canadian accounting qualification preferred.
- 3-8 years of experience in Senior Accounting, General Accounting, Canadian Accounting or Finance Operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting Canadian accounting processes or Canadian-based clients preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end close activities.
- Working knowledge of GST/HST and Canadian accounting practices.
- Exposure to ASPE and/or IFRS preferred.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
