Job Summary l Senior MDG Specialist

Master Data Support L3 is responsible for providing advanced technical and functional support for master data management (MDM) processes, systems, and data governance activities. This role serves as the highest level of operational support, handling complex incidents, root-cause analysis, data quality issues, system enhancements, and process improvements. The L3 specialist collaborates with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data governance functions to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of enterprise master data.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Support & Operations

- Provide Level 3 support for master data-related incidents, service requests, and escalations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues impacting business operations.
- Analyze and correct data inconsistencies across multiple systems and applications.
- Support master data domains such as Customer, Vendor, Material/Product, Finance, and Reference Data.
- Ensure adherence to established master data standards, policies, and procedures.

Incident & Problem Management

- Investigate recurring issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate with application support, development,



and infrastructure teams to resolve critical incidents.
- Document resolutions, known errors, and preventive measures.
- Participate in incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Data Quality & Governance

- Monitor data quality metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Support data validation, cleansing, enrichment, and standardization activities.
- Collaborate with data stewards and governance teams to enforce data quality standards.
- Assist in defining and maintaining business rules and data controls.

System & Process Improvement

- Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
- Participate in system upgrades, testing, deployments, and change management activities.
- Support integration processes between ERP, MDM, and downstream systems.
- Develop and maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Act as a subject matter expert for mastering data processes and systems.
- Provide guidance and training to L1 and L2 support teams.
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Support audit and compliance activities related to master data management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.




- 8 to 10 + years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, ERP Support, or Application Support.
- Experience supporting enterprise systems such as SAP, Fiori, or other ERP/MDM platforms.
- Robust understanding of master data concepts, data lifecycle management, and data governance principles.
- Experience with incident management and IT service management processes.

Technical Skills

- Master Data Management (MDM) tools and platforms.
- ERP systems (SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, etc.).
- SQL and data analysis techniques.
- Data quality and data governance tools.
- ETL and system integration concepts.
- Service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
- Knowledge of data integration and middleware platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and data services.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Data Governance or Data Management certifications.
