About the Role

We're looking for a freelance Cold Email & Outbound Specialist to write and optimize cold email campaigns that actually convert-not just get opened. This isn't a "spray and pray" copywriting gig. We need someone who understands outbound as a system: messaging, targeting, deliverability, and iteration, all working together to book meetings and drive pipeline.

What You'll Do
- Write cold email sequences (initial outreach + follow-ups) tailored to specific ICPs and offers.
- Develop and test subject lines, hooks, and CTAs to improve open, reply, and positive-reply rates.
- Collaborate with us on positioning and messaging angles based on the offer and target audience.
- A/B test copy variants and iterate based on performance data.
- Advise on list segmentation and personalization strategies that support the copy (not just generic mail-merge fields).
- Stay mindful of deliverability best practices so campaigns don't end up in spam.
- Report on campaign performance (reply rates, meetings booked, etc.) and suggest optimizations.

Requirements




- 1+ years of experience writing cold email / outbound copy.
- Proven track record of results: you must be able to show real campaign metrics (reply rates, meetings booked, deals influenced) from past client or company work, not just samples.
- Robust grasp of what makes B2B (or relevant industry) recipients actually respond-pain points, specificity, brevity, credibility.
- Experience with cold email tools (e.g., Instantly, Smartlead, Apollo, Lemlist, or similar) is a plus.
- Comfortable working independently, hitting deadlines, and iterating quickly based on feedback/data.
- Good written English with a natural, non-"salesy" tone.
