Job Title: SAP ABAP RAP

Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP ABAP RAP Developer with strong expertise in HANA ABAP, CDS, AMDP, and RAP. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing enterprise-grade applications and services using the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), SAP BTP ABAP Environment, and SAP S/4HANA.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with OData V2/V4, Business Objects, Behavior Definitions, Behavior Implementations, ABAP CDS, ABAP Cloud, Clean Core, and SAP BTP Integration Suite. Experience with RAP and BTP Integration Suite will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement enterprise-grade OData V2/V4 services using the ABAP RAP framework to enable seamless communication between SAP S/4HANA backend systems and modern frontend applications.
- Define and implement robust Business Objects (BO) using Behavior Definitions (BDEF) and Behavior Implementations (BP).
- Develop managed and unmanaged RAP scenarios, including CRUD operations, actions, determinations, and transactional logic.
- Architect complex data models using ABAP Core Data Services (CDS) with appropriate annotations for UI positioning, search capabilities, and analytical features.
- Develop solutions supporting SAP Fiori Elements-based applications using RAP and CDS.
- Apply ABAP Cloud and Clean Core principles to develop upgrade-stable and maintainable SAP extensions.
- Develop side-by-side and developer extensibility solutions using SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk).
- Implement asynchronous communication patterns using Business Events within the RAP framework.




- Consume and integrate external APIs to support hybrid workflows across SAP and non-SAP landscapes.
- Work with SAP BTP Integration Suite for enterprise integration and connectivity scenarios.
- Ensure solutions follow SAP development standards, cloud extensibility guidelines, and Clean Core principles.
- Troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and support RAP, CDS, OData, and integration-related issues.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, solution architects, integration teams, and frontend developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP / HANA ABAP development.

- RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model)
- Strong experience with OData V2/V4 services.
- Hands-on experience with RAP Business Objects, BDEF, and Behavior Implementations.
- Knowledge of managed and unmanaged RAP implementations.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA development.
- Strong understanding of ABAP Cloud and Clean Core principles.
- Experience with SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk).
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori Elements and CDS annotations.
- Experience with Business Events and API-based integrations.
- Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of side-by-side and developer extensibility.
- Positive understanding of SAP integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Ability to work independently, analyze technical requirements, and deliver high-quality scalable solutions.
