the Role

We are looking for an experienced Grants Accountant with hands-on experience in US grant accounting, grant financial management and compliance. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of grant budgets, fund accounting, restricted funds, grant reconciliations, cost allocation, financial reporting and audit support.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting activities related to US government, foundation and other grant-funded programs.
- Maintain accurate accounting records for grant-funded activities and restricted funds.
- Track grant budgets, expenditures, funding and available balances.
- Perform grant reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
- Monitor expenses against approved grant budgets and funding requirements.
- Prepare grant financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Perform Budget vs Actual analysis for grant-funded programs.
- Review transactions for appropriate grant coding,



account classification and supporting documentation.
- Support cost allocation across grants and programs in accordance with approved methodologies.
- Prepare and post Journal Entries, Accruals, Reclassifications and other grant-related accounting adjustments.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities related to grant-funded programs.
- Maintain General Ledger records and grant-specific supporting schedules.
- Support Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End Close activities.
- Coordinate with Program, Grants Management and Finance teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Support grant audits and provide required financial documentation and reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable grant terms, organizational policies, internal controls and US GAAP.
