Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Internal Auditor with 0-3 years of experience in the Retail industry to conduct operational, financial, inventory, cash, and process audits across retail stores and warehouses.
The candidate will be responsible for identifying control weaknesses, inventory discrepancies, revenue leakages, policy deviations, and potential fraud risks, and for providing practical recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Store & Operational Audit
- Conduct regular and surprise audits of retail stores and warehouses.
- Verify compliance with company policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Review store operations, processes, approvals, and documentation.
- Identify operational gaps, control weaknesses, and process deviations.
- Prepare detailed audit observations with supporting evidence.
Inventory Audit
- Conduct physical stock verification and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Identify stock shortages, excesses, damages, expiry, shrinkage, and stock adjustments.
- Verify stock transfers, inward/outward movements, returns, and write-offs.
- Investigate inventory variances and identify root causes.
- Monitor corrective actions related to inventory discrepancies.
Cash & POS Audit
- Verify daily sales, cash collections, card/UPI transactions, and bank deposits.
- Audit POS transactions, cancellations, refunds, returns, discounts, and void bills.
- Identify cash shortages/excesses and revenue leakage.
- Verify petty cash and expense claims.
- Review adherence to cash-handling procedures.
Purchase & Vendor Audit
- Verify Purchase Orders, GRNs, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Check compliance with purchase
