Role Description The Quality Control Chemist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The chemist is responsible for performing routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished catalysts to ensure compliance with internal specifications and regulatory standards.
Daily activities include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents and standards, documenting test results, and participating in investigations of non-conforming products. The role involves collaborating with production and R&D; teams to support process validation, method optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The chemist is also expected to follow laboratory safety protocols, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the integrity of the quality management system.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Quality Control skills, including familiarity with quality standards, test protocols, and documentation practices.
- Candidates should possess core Laboratory Skills, such as sample preparation, wet chemistry techniques, and safe handling of chemicals.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, troubleshooting of test results, and attention to detail.
- Candidates should possess experience with Laboratory Equipment and Calibration, including operation, routine maintenance, and calibration of instruments.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of catalyst chemistry, inorganic chemistry, or materials science is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety regulations, and ISO or similar quality systems is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams, and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
