The Purchase Manager Apparel will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement and category management of apparel products for the retail business. The role involves vendor sourcing, product selection, price negotiations, inventory planning, trend analysis, and ensuring timely availability of quality products while achieving sales, margin, and inventory targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure apparel products, including men &, women &, kids, innerwear, and seasonal wear.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and distributors.
- Identify fashion trends, customer preferences, and market opportunities to strengthen the apparel category.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements to maximize profitability.
- Plan purchases based on sales forecasts, seasonal demand, and promotional calendars.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimum stock availability while minimizing excess and slow-moving inventory.
- Coordinate with merchandising, warehouse, logistics, and store teams for timely product availability.
- Analyses category performance, sales trends, margins, and stock movement to optimize product assortment.
- Ensure product quality, sizing, fabric standards, packaging, and compliance with company requirements.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, lead time, and service levels.
- Resolve procurement issues related to quality, shortages,



returns, and delayed deliveries.
- Prepare purchase orders, procurement MIS reports, and category performance reports.
- Drive category profitability through effective sourcing, cost control, and inventory management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor & degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Fashion Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- MBA or Diploma in Supply Chain/Procurement or Fashion Merchandising is preferred.

Experience

- 5 to 8 years of experience in purchasing/procurement of Apparel in the Retail/FMCG industry.
- Robust vendor network in the apparel industry is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong understanding of apparel buying, fabric quality, sizing, and
- fashion trends.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple vendors simultaneously.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for procurement planning and reporting.
