Purchase Engineer – Electro-Mechanical & Capital Equipment

Job Location - Kundli Sonipat & Jhundpur Sonipat Haryana

Experience - 5–8 years

Salary - up to 60 K

Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing electro-mechanical components, machinery, plant equipment, and capital equipment while ensuring the best combination of quality, cost, delivery, and technical suitability.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase & Sourcing

Source electro-mechanical components, machinery, equipment, tools, spares, and capital equipment.

Identify and develop reliable suppliers, manufacturers, OEMs, and authorized dealers.

Obtain and compare quotations, technical specifications, and commercial terms.

Prepare comparative statements and purchase recommendations.

Capital Equipment Procurement

Handle procurement of new machinery, production equipment, utility equipment, automation systems, electrical panels, compressors, pumps, motors, etc.

Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and Finance for equipment requirements.

Evaluate supplier technical offers and coordinate technical discussions.

Manage complete procurement cycle from RFQ to delivery, installation, commissioning, and closure.

Vendor Management

Negotiate price, payment terms, warranty, delivery schedules, AMC, installation, and after-sales support.

Develop alternative suppliers to reduce dependency and procurement risk.

Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery.

Maintain approved vendor and supplier database.

Technical Coordination

Understand technical specifications, BOQs, drawings, datasheets, and equipment requirements.

Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance teams for technical evaluation of offers.

Ensure purchased equipment meets approved specifications and standards.





Cost & Commercial Management

Negotiate competitive prices and achieve cost savings.

Analyze total cost of ownership, including installation, maintenance, spares, and operating costs.

Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets.

Support annual budgeting for machinery and capital expenditure.

Purchase Documentation

Prepare RFQs, Purchase Orders, comparative statements, vendor evaluation documents, and related records.

Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company procurement procedures.

Track pending orders and maintain procurement MIS.

Delivery & Installation

Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.

Coordinate logistics, inspection, installation, commissioning, and acceptance of equipment.

Resolve issues related to shortages, damages, specifications, and warranty claims.

Required Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or related Engineering discipline.

Experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, flexible packaging, or process industries.

Positive knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.

Strong negotiation, vendor development, and commercial skills.

Good knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/SAP, and procurement systems.

Experience

5–8 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement, with strong exposure to electro-mechanical items and capital equipment procurement.
