Proposal Engineer (BIW Projects) Experience: 3 4 Years

Role Summary

We are looking for a Proposal Engineer with 3 4 years of experience in automotive automation, preferably BIW projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing technical proposals, BOMs, cost estimates, RFQs, and supporting the sales/project team during the proposal stage.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare technical and commercial proposals for BIW automation and robotic projects.

Study customer RFQs, layouts, specifications, and project requirements.

Prepare BOM, material specifications, and cost estimates for electrical, controls,

robotics, and automation scope.

Coordinate with Controls, Mechanical, Robotics, Purchase, and Project teams for proposal inputs.

Prepare RFQs and obtain quotations from suppliers.

Compare supplier quotations and prepare technical/commercial comparison sheets.

Estimate engineering, installation, commissioning, and manpower requirements.

Prepare project costing and support management in finalizing quotations.

Review electrical layouts, robot layouts, control panel requirements, cable requirements, safety systems, and field devices.

Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and customer requirements.





Support clarification meetings with customers and suppliers.

Maintain proposal documents, costing sheets, and revision history.

Technical Skills

Valuable knowledge of BIW automation, robotic welding, fixtures, and material handling systems.

Basic understanding of PLC, HMI, robots, safety systems, sensors, drives, and electrical panels.

Knowledge of electrical components, cables, cable trays, field devices, and control systems.

Good understanding of BOM preparation and project costing.

Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.

Knowledge of AutoCAD/EPLAN is an added advantage.

Required Skills Experience with ABB/Siemens/Allen-Bradley automation is preferred.

Strong analytical and costing skills.

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and layouts.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under tight proposal deadlines.

Good negotiation and vendor coordination skills.

Willingness to travel to customer/vendor locations when required.

Qualification

BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or

Automation Engineering.

Preferred Experience Experience in BIW, automotive automation, robotics, system integration, electrical engineering, or controls projects will be preferred.
