Senior Java/Python Engineer | AWS | Kafka

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java/Python Engineer with 9+ years of hands-on experience in application design and development, with strong expertise in Java/J2EE and/or Python and cloud-native development on AWS.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Expertise
- Design and develop scalable applications using Java/J2EE and/or Python.
- Work extensively with AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, EKS, Fargate, Aurora, Elasticsearch and Lambda.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka and other messaging/streaming technologies.
- Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker.
- Work with AWS serverless technologies including Lambda and Step Functions.
- Apply strong knowledge of Java/Python language fundamentals, including interfaces, generics, annotations, reflection and closures.
- Develop multi-threaded applications with a strong understanding of thread safety and concurrency principles.
- Follow Test-Driven Development practices using JUnit and mocking frameworks.
- Work with Git,



Maven/Gradle and CI/CD processes in an Agile development environment.
- Develop and support applications deployed on application servers such as Tomcat and WebLogic.
- Work extensively with RDBMS and SQL, with exposure to NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and MongoDB.
- Collaborate effectively with business users, architects and development teams.

Required Skills & Experience
- 9+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java/J2EE and/or Python.
- 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
- Strong expertise in Apache Kafka and messaging/streaming platforms.
- Strong understanding of Docker and AWS serverless technologies.
- Strong programming fundamentals, multithreading and thread-safety concepts.
- Experience with JUnit, mocking, Git, Maven/Gradle and Agile methodologies.
- Solid RDBMS and SQL knowledge with working knowledge of NoSQL databases.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skil
