Primary Responsibilities:

- Review and accurately assign E/M codes for outpatient physician services in accordance with current coding guidelines.

- Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, CMS, and payer-specific regulations.

- Analyze medical documentation to determine the appropriate level of service based on Medical Decision Making (MDM), time, and other applicable guidelines.

- Conduct coding audits and provide feedback to providers when necessary.

- Maintain productivity and quality standards established by the organization.

Required Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of Outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding guidelines.

- Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and healthcare documentation requirements.

- Experience coding physician/skilled fee services.

- Ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply coding guidelines accurately.

- Should be certified from AAPC/AHIMA

Preferred Qualifications:

- Working knowledge of Inpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding.

- Experience with both outpatient and inpatient physician coding.

- Familiarity with CMS and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
