The Echo/TMT Technician is responsible for performing echocardiography (2D, 3D, Doppler) and Treadmill Test (TMT) procedures accurately under the guidance of a cardiologist. The role ensures high-quality diagnostic testing, proper patient preparation, and adherence to hospital and NABH standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Perform 2D, 3D, and Doppler echocardiography procedures accurately as per physician instructions.
- Conduct Treadmill Test (TMT) following standard protocols and safety guidelines.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the test, taking consent, and monitoring vital signs.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment safely, ensuring calibration and quality checks.
- Record, document, and store test results accurately for review by cardiologists.
- Monitor patients during TMT for signs of stress, arrhythmia, or other complications and report immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control protocols in the diagnostic area.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating appointments with patients and doctors.
- Participate in departmental meetings,



audits, and quality assurance programs.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards and hospital safety protocols.
- Qualifications Experience
- Diploma / B.Sc . / Certification in Cardiac Technology / Echocardiography / TMT or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in echo and TMT procedures (fresher s with relevant training may be considered).
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic procedures.
- Skills Competencies
- Proficiency in performing echocardiography and TMT tests.
- Ability to monitor patients and respond to emergencies during tests.
- Valuable documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Patient-centric approach with empathy and communication skills.
- Understanding of infection control and hospital protocols.
- Teamwork and coordination with cardiologists, nurses, and other support staff.
