Role Overview

We are hiring a Head of Product Design to lead our design and product development function. This is a hands-on leadership role you will own the entire product journey from idea to production: ideation, 3D/2D design, material trials, prototyping, sampling, and handover to final production.

You will drive all R&D; initiatives, experiment with new materials and combinations, and build a pipeline of innovative desk accessories, home dcor, and corporate gifting products for both our B2B and e-commerce verticals.

You will start as an individual contributor with full ownership. Shortly after you join, we will recruit junior designers to work under you, and you will be responsible for building and leading this team.

Key Responsibilities

- NPD ownership: Own the complete new product development cycle — idea generation, concept design, 3D modelling, prototyping, sampling, cost workups, creation of production jigs and fixtures, and release to production.
- R&D; and material trials: Lead experimentation with new materials, finishes, and processes. Run structured material trials and document outcomes so learnings are retained and reusable.
- Multi-material design: Design products in plastic, MDF, acrylic, wood, glass, metal, cork, resin, and combinations of these — matched to our in-house manufacturing capabilities (injection moulding, laser cutting/engraving, UV print, screen printing, 3D print).
- Product pipeline: Build a continuous pipeline of new desk accessories, home dcor items, and corporate gifting products for corporate clients and e-commerce marketplaces.
- Design for manufacturing: Work with the production team and vendors to ensure designs are manufacturable at target cost and quality. Resolve DFM issues during sampling before they reach the shop floor.
- Packaging design: Design and develop packaging that protects the product in transit, presents well as a gift,



and meets marketplace requirements — including dimensional and weight efficiency for FBA and courier slabs, and survivability in drop and transit testing.
- Team building: Hire, train, and lead junior designers (recruitment planned soon after you join). Set design standards, file naming and version conventions, and review processes for the team.
- Market awareness: Track gifting and dcor trends, competitor products, and marketplace bestsellers to feed the ideation funnel.

Must-Have Experience

- A portfolio of physical products you have personally designed that have moved from concept to mass production. Concepts and renders alone will not be sufficient.
- Experience designing and developing products in multiple materials such as MDF, acrylic, wood, glass, metal, cork, resin, and Jesmonite — and combinations of these.

Good to Have

- Prior exposure to mould design, or experience working with mould makers on injection-moulded parts.
- Prior experience in corporate gifting, home dcor, desk accessories, stationery, or closely related product categories.
- 3D modelling proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360.
- 2D design proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW.
- Experience with rendering tools (KeyShot, Blender, or similar) for product visualisation and e-commerce listing imagery.

We are open to candidates strong in other design software, depending on prior experience and strengths.
