As a Book Designer (Academic Publications) , you will be responsible for designing and preparing layouts for educational publications developed by Samvit Research Foundation. The role involves designing textbooks, workbooks, teacher handbooks, and supplementary readers using qualified design tools such as Adobe InDesign and other related software.
You will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), writers, illustrators, and academic coordinators to ensure that the books are visually engaging, well-structured, and suitable for learners. The role also requires familiarity with emerging technologies, including the ability to generate illustrations using AI tools to support the development of visual content.

Key Responsibilities

Book Layout Design

Design and develop layouts for textbooks, workbooks, Teacher Handbooks (THBs), and supplementary readers using Adobe InDesign and other design tools.

Ensure clarity, readability, and visual appeal in the layout of all publications.

Organize text, images, diagrams, and illustrations in a structured and learner-friendly format.





Typesetting and Formatting

Prepare final book layouts by placing text, headings, tables, images, and exercises appropriately.

Ensure consistent formatting, typography, and alignment across all chapters.

Maintain uniform style and design standards across publications.

Illustration and Visual Support

Work with illustrators to incorporate appropriate visuals into the content.

Generate simple illustrations and visual elements using AI-based tools when required.

Ensure that illustrations effectively support the concepts presented in the text.

Coordination with Academic Team

Work closely with SMEs, writers, and coordinators to understand the requirements of each book.

Incorporate feedback and revisions provided by the academic team.

Ensure timely updates and corrections in layouts during different stages of production.
