Our client, Energy Vault is the creator of renewable energy storage products that are transforming the worlds approach to utility-scale energy storage for grid resiliency. Our clients comprehensive offerings include our proprietary gravity, battery, hybrid/green hydrogen energy storage solutions and our technology-agnostic software suite that orchestrates and integrates multiple energy asset types (storage & generation) while optimizing dispatch, costs, revenues, and overall asset performance.

About the role

Energy Vault is looking for a talented Engineer to monitor and evaluate the performance of Energy Vault’s energy storage projects to maximize safety, reliability, and productivity. You will be interacting and working with a talented design, software, and operation teams in optimizing and deploying BESS projects and advanced software automation to the power grid. You will have the opportunity to work with emerging power generation technologies in real-world deployments.

What you will do

- Proactively monitor performance and operations for battery energy storage systems (BESS) using proprietary EMS and software management systems.
- Analyze large sets of historical operational data from EMS platforms to identify trends, root causes of performance deviations,



and predictive indicators of component failures.
- Perform detailed trend and root cause analyses to assess asset reliability, efficiency, and performance consistency across deployments.
- Collaborate with the Asset Management Software team by sharing analysis findings and system behavior insights to support the development of predictive features and automated responses to mitigate hardware failures.
- Work closely with internal AI and data science teams to validate and refine machine learning models used for anomaly detection and operational forecasting.
- Support the integration of AI-driven diagnostics into performance monitoring workflows to enhance decision-making and fault prediction accuracy.
- Create periodic performance reports (monthly and annual) for internal stakeholders and customers, presenting key metrics such as energy availability, system efficiency, degradation, maintenance history, and fault rates.
- Maintain and expand performance databases using SQL and NoSQL tools, supporting structured and unstructured data modeling across multiple assets.
- Interface with cross-functional engineering teams, including software, hardware, and operations, to troubleshoot and resolve emerging system performance issues.
- Respond to customer escalations with detailed diagnostics and resolution planning, maintaining clear and professional communication at all times.
- Participate in service ticket review and resolution processes, ensuring timely closure and quality documentation.




- Contribute to ongoing improvement of remote monitoring workflows and system automation using scripting and data analytics tools such as Python.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements in all aspects of system operation and maintenance.

Qualification Requirements:

- A solid technical understanding of renewable electrical power generation equipment, protection hardware, software, and control systems.
- BS in Electrical/Power Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong experience with SCADA systems and power system controls.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with utility-scale battery systems, inverters, and EMS software.
- Proven ability to analyze large historical datasets sourced from EMS and monitoring platforms for root cause analysis, predictive failure modeling, and performance trend assessment.
- Familiarity with data pipelines and working with time-series and unstructured data using Big Data technologies (e.g., NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra, Hadoop, or Spark).
- Ability to generate actionable insights and create visual dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong proficiency with SQL for querying structured data, and Python for automation, data processing, and scripting.
- Experience working on AI-driven applications and collaborating with software development teams to implement data-informed software features and operational improvements.
- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Capable of working independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional team workplace.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Required to pass a background check.
