Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Pune at Tasmmay Child Development School and Day Care.
The Occupational Therapist will assess children’s developmental, sensory, motor, functional, and self-care skills and design individualized therapy plans to support their participation in daily routines, school activities, learning, and play.
Key responsibilities include conducting one-on-one and small-group therapy sessions, documenting progress, updating intervention plans, and collaborating with educators, caregivers, psychologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, and other professionals.
The role will also involve guiding families on home-based activities, adapting materials and environments to support participation, contributing to classroom strategies, and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pediatric occupational therapy assessments.
- Assess sensory processing, fine motor, gross motor, visual-motor, functional, and self-care skills.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group occupational therapy sessions.
- Work with children with developmental delays, Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and other developmental needs.
- Support school readiness, classroom participation, play, and activities of daily living.
- Implement sensory integration and other appropriate evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Monitor developmental progress and maintain accurate therapy documentation.
- Guide parents and caregivers regarding home-based activities and strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in case discussions, parent meetings, and team planning.
- Maintain qualified, ethical, and child-safeguarding standards.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT) from a recognized institution.
- Valid professional registration/licence as required by the relevant regulatory body.
- Prior experience working with children is required.
- Experience in pediatric therapy, early intervention, developmental centres, schools, or rehabilitation settings will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatric development, sensory processing, motor skills, functional independence, and activities of daily living.
- Knowledge or certification in Sensory Integration, Ayres Sensory Integration, or other pediatric therapeutic approaches will be an advantage.
- Good communication and parent-counselling skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills.
- Warm, patient, child-centered, and family-focused approach.
