Role & responsibilities

- Firewall Migration: Design and execute migration strategies from hardware firewall appliances to VM-based open-source firewall solutions.
- VM Deployment: Deploy, configure, and optimize virtual machines running firewall stacks in accordance with the Banks security architecture.
- Open Source Firewalls: Implement and maintain open-source firewall technologies ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Security Monitoring: Integrate and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems, traffic analysis, and monitoring tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of firewall solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, policies, and migration processes.

Preferred candidate profile





- Minimum 4 years of experience in Linux engineering with a focus on firewall technologies.
- Proven expertise in VM-based firewall deployment and configuration.
- Strong background in application load balancers and network proxy technologies
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and firewall rule management.
- Hands-on experience with:

- NixOS

- Nftables

- Cilium

- Suricata

- Zeek

Preferred Skills

- Experience in open-source firewall migration projects within financial institutions.
- Familiarity with cloud-native networking and containerized environments.
- Solid troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.

Role Level

- Mid-level position requiring a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
