About the Opportunity

Mercor is building a network of experienced Data Scientists for future projects with leading AI research organizations. These projects will focus on evaluating how effectively AI systems perform real-world data science work, including statistical analysis, machine learning, experimentation, and technical decision-making.

While there is no immediate project opening, qualified candidates may be contacted as relevant opportunities become available.

Ideal Candidates
1+ years of professional experience in Data Science
Experience at a leading technology company, research organization, quantitative firm, AI lab, or equivalent workplace
Robust proficiency in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation methodologies
Experience working with large, complex datasets and translating data into actionable insights
Excellent written communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Detail-oriented with solid analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable receiving feedback and calibrating evaluations against established standards

Key Responsibilities




Design task-specific evaluation criteria for data science deliverables and workflows
Review and assess exploratory data analyses, machine learning models, feature engineering solutions, and technical reports
Evaluate AI-generated and human-created work against predefined quality standards
Provide detailed written justifications for scores and evaluations
Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure evaluations are reproducible and defensible
Incorporate reviewer feedback and refine evaluations as needed
