Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer with strong hands-on experience building custom applications, APIs, extensions, and integrations between Business Central and external systems.

This is not a general Dynamics support or functional consultant role. The ideal candidate should have proven experience working directly with the Business Central development environment and connecting Business Central with web applications, SaaS platforms, databases, cloud services, and other external environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop custom solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Build and maintain custom APIs and web services for communication between Business Central and external applications.
- Develop Business Central extensions using AL.
- Integrate Business Central with external systems such as: Web applications, SaaS platforms, CRM systems, Databases, Cloud services, Custom applications, Third-party APIs
- Work with Business Central REST APIs, OData, SOAP/web services, and API pages where appropriate.
- Design secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for integrations.
- Handle data synchronization, transformation, validation, error handling, and logging.
- Develop middleware or integration services where direct ERP-to-application integration is not appropriate.
- Troubleshoot API, integration, performance, and data synchronization issues.
- Collaborate with product, backend, and infrastructure teams to design scalable integration architectures.
- Document integration architecture, API endpoints, data mappings,



and deployment procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proven professional experience developing solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Strong experience with AL development and Business Central extensions.
- Demonstrated experience building custom APIs and integrations involving Business Central.
- Experience integrating Business Central with at least one external application or environment in production.
- Strong understanding of: REST APIs, JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, OAuth 2.0, Web services, API authentication
- Experience working with Business Central APIs, API pages, OData and related integration technologies.
- Understanding of ERP entities such as customers, vendors, items, inventory, sales orders, purchase orders, invoices, and financial data.
- Experience troubleshooting data synchronization and integration failures.
- Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, or similar integration services.
- Experience integrating Business Central with custom web or mobile applications.
- Experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, or another backend development language.
- Experience designing middleware or event-driven integrations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.

What We Are Specifically Looking For

Candidates should be able to demonstrate real projects where they have connected Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with another application or setting.

Experience limited to Business Central configuration, implementation, reporting, or functional consulting will not be sufficient for this role.

During the interview process, candidates should be prepared to discuss:

What external systems they integrated with Business Central.

How the integration architecture was designed.

Which Business Central APIs or web services were used.

Whether they developed custom APIs or extensions.

How authentication and data synchronization were handled.

Challenges encountered and how they were resolved.
