Role Description: The Mechanical Product Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for designing and developing mechanical products from concept through to prototype and manufacturing handoff. Day-to-day work includes creating and refining 3D models and detailed drawings, performing design calculations, and validating concepts through simulations and physical prototyping.

The role involves collaborating closely with industrial designers, manufacturing partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure products meet performance, safety, cost, and user-experience requirements. The engineer will participate in design reviews, iterate based on feedback and test results,



and maintain clear documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This position also contributes to continuous improvement of design processes and supports innovation across industrial and consumer product portfolios.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply core engineering principles to real-world products.
- Proficiency in Product Design and Product Development, including concept generation, design for manufacturing (DFM), and iterative prototyping.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drafting.
- Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings, tolerance stack-ups, and basic analyses (stress, fatigue, materials selection).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with fabrication, machining, and assembly processes; exposure to industrial machinery or consumer product design is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Knowledge of prototyping methods, testing procedures, and quality standards; familiarity with design standards and safety regulations is beneficial.
