Role & responsibilities
- Perform research, design, development, evaluation, and modification of valve designs and associated systems by applying basic engineering principles in collaboration.
- Develop product and component designs from concept to production release, supporting the complete product development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and assemblies using SolidWorks and SolidWorks ePDM.
- Generate design layouts, detailed drawings, engineering calculations, and supporting technical documentation.
- Analyze and interpret Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) results to support design decisions and product optimization.
- Support onsite engineering team in product design and development activities, with a primary focus on New Product Development (NPD) initiatives.
- Develop new design calculation templates and perform engineering calculations using established methodologies and tools.
- Participate in FMEA, DFM and Design review activities.
- Support execution of product validation plans, including the design and development of test fixtures and equipment as required.
- Interpret applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring product designs meet all relevant compliance and performance criteria.
- Assist in maintaining and improving existing product designs to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful design implementation for new products.
- Participate in First Article Inspections (FAI)
of locally manufactured prototypes and support qualification activities.
- Adhere to the Group New Product Development (NPD) process and established engineering best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support in creating, revising, and maintaining engineering specifications, standards, procedures, and technical documentation in collaboration.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product design, engineering efficiency, and process standardization
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years’ design engineering experience required
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM software or similar 3D CAD software.
- Min 1 year experience of thermal and structural FEA software.
- Min 3 years Experience working in manufacturing set up.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and engineering design practices, welding methods, basic metallurgy.
- Solid communication and organizational skills with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Preferred
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ASME BPE, ASME BPVC, USP, FDA, PED (EU), cGMP, BPOG) is a significant plus.
- Expertise/familiarity with rubber molding technology, injection molding, transfer molding, plastic manufacturing.
- Expertise/familiarity with forgings, machined components, welding, grinding processes, etc.
- Experience from valve/pump industry is a plus
