SDP Mech Tech is an engineering company focused on the design and development of high-performance machinery for the stone processing industry. The company works on precision-engineered solutions including marble and granite cutting, multi-wire sawing, bridge saws, CNC work centers, resin lines and edge polishing machinery.

We are looking for a Mechanical Draftsman who can convert engineering concepts and designs into accurate, manufacturing-ready drawings and technical documentation.

Job Summary The Mechanical Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for industrial machinery and machine components. The role involves working closely with mechanical engineers, production and fabrication teams to ensure that drawings are accurate, practical and suitable for manufacturing and assembly.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed 2D mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings for industrial machinery.
- Develop 3D models and machine components using CAD software.
- Prepare drawings for machine frames, shafts, brackets, plates, rollers, guards, assemblies and other mechanical components.
- Convert engineering concepts and sketches into accurate production-ready drawings.
- Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and part lists.
- Include appropriate dimensions, tolerances, material specifications and manufacturing details in drawings.




- Prepare exploded views and assembly drawings wherever required.
- Modify existing drawings based on engineering and production requirements.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers and the production/fabrication team to resolve drawing-related issues.
- Ensure drawings follow standard engineering practices and company drawing standards.
- Maintain proper revision control and documentation of drawings.
- Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, manufacturability and completeness before releasing them for production.
- Assist the engineering team in developing and improving machine designs.
- Support documentation related to machine installation, maintenance and technical manuals when required.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Drawing and Drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks / Solid Edge / Inventor will be an advantage.
- Understanding of machine components, fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, fits and dimensional standards.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of materials such as MS, SS, aluminium and other engineering materials.
- Understanding of welding, machining,



fabrication and assembly processes.
- Good knowledge of basic mechanical engineering concepts.
- Ability to visualize mechanical assemblies and convert them into detailed drawings.
- Positive attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and production teams.

Educational Qualification Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.

Experience

- 1–4 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design.
- Candidates with experience in industrial machinery, machine manufacturing, fabrication or heavy engineering will be preferred.
- Freshers with strong CAD skills and good mechanical drawing knowledge may also be considered.
