Job Title: MD Pathologist(Consultant)

Location: Clinic / Medical Centre / Diagnostic Centre

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical & Diagnostic Responsibilities:

- Examine, analyze, and interpret laboratory specimens including hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, cytology, and histopathology samples.
- Review and validate laboratory test results before release.
- Provide accurate and timely pathology reports.
- Consult with physicians and healthcare providers regarding diagnostic findings and treatment recommendations.
- Perform microscopic examinations and interpret results.
- Investigate abnormal or critical test results and communicate findings to clinicians.

Laboratory Management:

- Oversee daily laboratory operations and workflow.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory quality standards and protocols.
- Monitor calibration, maintenance, and performance of laboratory equipment.
- Supervise laboratory technicians and technical staff.
- Implement quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) measures.

Compliance & Accreditation:

- Ensure compliance with NABL, CAP, ISO, local health authority, and regulatory standards as applicable.
- Maintain laboratory documentation, SOPs, and records.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.
- Ensure appropriate infection control and laboratory safety practices.

Clinical Support & Consultation:

- Guide clinicians on specimen collection, test selection, and result interpretation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical discussions when required.
- Provide expert opinions on complex diagnostic cases.

Training & Development:

- Train and mentor laboratory staff.




- Conduct regular competency assessments and educational sessions.
- Stay updated with advancements in pathology and laboratory medicine.

Qualifications:

- MBBS with MD/DNB in Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical registration with the relevant Medical Council.
- Fellowship or additional certifications in laboratory medicine (preferred).

Experience:

- 2+ years of experience in pathology and laboratory diagnostics.
- Experience in diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, medical centers, or clinics.
- Knowledge of laboratory accreditation and quality management systems is preferred.
