Monitor smooth functioning of the hospital during the shift.
Coordinate with all departments.
Resolve operational issues and bottlenecks.
Ensure patient safety standards are followed.
Address and escalate reliable patient-care concerns.
Coordinate immediate action during critical situations.
Coordinate hospital response during emergencies.
Manage operational requirements during disasters, fire, mass casualties, etc.
Monitor staff availability and shortages.
Arrange replacements for absent staff where required.
Coordinate manpower deployment during high workload.
Handle escalated patient/attendant complaints.
Coordinate with concerned departments for quick resolution.
Ensure proper documentation of major complaints.
Coordinate between Clinical, Nursing, Emergency, OT, ICU, Diagnostics, Pharmacy, Billing, Housekeeping and Security.
Monitor bed availability and occupancy.
Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges.
Support smooth patient movement within the hospital.
Respond to operational incidents.
Escalate responsible incidents to senior management.
Ensure proper incident reporting and documentation.
Coordinate with Security during emergencies or security incidents.




Handle crowd control, violence, unauthorized access and missing-patient situations.
Monitor electricity, water, medical gases, lifts, HVAC and other essential services.
Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance for breakdowns.
Ensure critical services are restored promptly.
Ensure MLC cases are handled according to hospital policy.
Coordinate with the concerned medical and administrative teams.
Maintain communication with senior management and department heads.
Escalate critical issues without delay.
Maintain the MOD logbook/shift report.
Record major incidents, complaints, staffing issues and operational problems.
Ensure hospital SOPs and policies are followed.
Monitor compliance with patient-safety and infection-control requirements.
Coordinate operational requirements for VIP or sensitive cases.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Review pending issues before completing the shift.
Brief the incoming MOD about significant incidents and unresolved matters.
Ensure continuity of operations between shifts.
