Role & responsibilities hiring a fund accounting professional to support the AVP Fund Accounting in running day-to-day scheme accounting, NAV preparation and reporting across its PMS and AIF platforms. This is an execution-heavy role suited to a candidate who wants to build technical depth in alternatives on a scaling platform.
The role is deliberately open to non-CA candidates with strong hands-on fund accounting experience. Practical exposure to AIF structures will count for more than qualification alone.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fund Accounting Support
Prepare scheme-wise books of account, journal entries, expense accruals and income recognition for review by the AVP.
Prepare daily / periodic NAV workings, unit capital reconciliations and portfolio valuation schedules.
Process accounting for investments, corporate actions, management fee accruals and scheme expenses.
Maintain capital account statements, drawdown and distribution schedules at investor level.
2. Reconciliation & Controls
Perform daily and monthly reconciliations across bank, custodian, broker, RTA and administrator records.
Investigate and close reconciliation breaks within defined timelines, escalating exceptions promptly.
Maintain reconciliation registers, checklists and supporting documentation to audit-ready standards.
3. Reporting & Audit Support
Prepare inputs for scheme financial statements, MIS packs and management reporting.
Compile schedules, samples and supporting documentation for statutory and internal audits.
Support periodic SEBI, custodian and trustee filings with accurate data and timely submission.
4. Process & Automation
Build and maintain Excel / Google Sheets models and templates to automate recurring workings.
Follow and help improve SOPs, checklists and maker–checker controls across the accounting cycle.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
Working knowledge of SEBI AIF and PMS Regulations and fund accounting fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with NAV workings, reconciliations and scheme-level accounting.
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets; comfort with fund accounting software.
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and ownership of deadlines.
Clear written communication and the ability to work to review-and-signoff discipline.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Experience within an AIF workplace — AIF fund house, fund administrator, custodian or fund accounting firm — is strongly preferred.
Exposure to multiple schemes and to offshore fund structures will be an added advantage.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
MBA (Finance), M.Com, CA Inter, CMA or CFA Level I / II. A full CA qualification is not required for this role.
