Night Manager / Manager on Duty (MOD)
Job Type: Full time
Work Location: On-site
Expected Hours: 10 hours per day (Night shifts) (9 pm to 7 am), (8pm to 6 am) or (10 pm to 9 am).
Notice: Immediate Joinee
Job Purpose To oversee and coordinate the smooth functioning of all hospital operations during the night shift, ensuring patient safety, quality naturopathy care, operational efficiency, statutory compliance, and adherence to hospital policies. The Night MOD acts as the central coordinator for all departments and serves as the first point of contact for emergencies occurring during non-office hours.
Key Responsibilities
Hospital Operations
- Manage and supervise overall hospital/Institute operations during the night shift.
- Ensure smooth coordination among Naturopathy, Yoga, Nursing, Ayurveda (if applicable), Physiotherapy, Housekeeping, Security, Maintenance, Pharmacy, Kitchen, and Front Office departments.
- Monitor patient admissions, transfers, discharges, referrals, and emergency admissions.
- Ensure uninterrupted delivery of naturopathy therapies, nursing care, and emergency medical support.
- Coordinate with the duty Medical Officer regarding patient clinical requirements.
- Ensure all scheduled therapies and nursing interventions are completed as per the treatment plan.
Patient Care & Experience
- Ensure patients receive prescribed naturopathy treatments, nursing care, dietary services, and medications on time.
- Address patient and attendant concerns promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with doctors, therapists, nurses, dieticians, and yoga instructors regarding patient needs.
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, dignity, and safety throughout the night.
- Monitor special care patients, elderly patients, post-procedure patients, and those requiring continuous observation.
Dietary & Nutrition Services
- Check Staff cafeteria Attendance in Canteen.
- Monitor hygiene standards in the Diet Centre & Gazebo.
- Address patient concerns related to food quality and dietary requirements.
Staff Supervision
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, and duty allocation of all night-shift employees including Security.
- Ensure staff remain at their assigned workstations throughout the shift.
- Prevent unauthorized sleeping, negligence, or absenteeism during duty hours.
- Provide operational guidance and support to nurses, therapists, security personnel, housekeeping staff, and other support services.
- Escalate disciplinary issues to HR and Hospital Administration.
Emergency Management
- Act as the Incident Commander during night-shift emergencies.
- Coordinate responses to medical emergencies, patient deterioration, fire incidents, power failures, natural calamities, and other unexpected situations with duty medical officer.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all incidents.
- Inform the Hospital Administrator or Medical Superintendent of major operational issues.
Facility & Maintenance
- Check if adequate lightings is provided in all area of the campus.
- Ensure therapy rooms, yoga halls, consultation rooms, and patient wards remain clean and ready for use.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel for immediate rectification of equipment failures and utility breakdowns.
- Verify uninterrupted availability of:
- Water supply
- Power backup (DG/UPS)
- Oxygen supply (where applicable)
- HVAC systems
- Hot water systems
- Therapy equipment
- Essential utilities
- Ensure hospital ambience supports a peaceful healing environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain the Night MOD Logbook.
- Prepare and submit a detailed Night Shift Report before completion of duty.
- Document:
- Patient complaints
- Therapy interruptions
- Equipment failures
- Safety incidents
- Emergency cases
- Operational challenges
- Ensure complete handover to the Day MOD or Hospital Administrator.

Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in hospital operations.
- Experience in a Naturopathy, Yoga, AYUSH, Wellness Centre, or Multispecialty Hospital is preferred.
- Exposure to NABH accreditation processes and hospital quality systems is desirable. Role & responsibilities
