Role Description The Manager of Operations at Balken Foods is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, responsible for overseeing daily inventory, and distribution activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, monitors process performance, and implements improvements in manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain workflows.

The Manager of Operations maintains compliance with food safety standards, tracks key operational metrics, and supports capacity planning and resource allocation. This position also collaborates with senior leadership on operational strategy, cost optimization, vendor management, and resolving any issues that impact product quality, service levels, or delivery timelines.

Qualifications

- Experience in operations management within food manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries, with strong skills in developing a retail network
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance relevant to frozen foods and meat products.
- Proficiency in inventory control, supply chain coordination, demand forecasting, and vendor management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to analyze operational data, use Excel or similar tools, prepare reports, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an in office operations role and familiarity with food / FMCG distribution & retailing business is needed
