Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting Mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM, along with a solid understanding of application development and support in Mainframe environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, enhance, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL and JCL.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design, code, test, debug, and deploy Mainframe programs.
- Work with DB2 databases for data retrieval, updates, and optimization.
- Develop and support online applications using CICS.
- Perform production support, incident analysis, and issue resolution.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities.
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Follow SDLC processes and Agile methodologies where applicable.

Required Technical Skills

Mainframe Technologies

- Strong experience in COBOL
- Hands-on experience with JCL (Job Control Language)
- Positive knowledge of DB2
- Experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System)
- Understanding of VSAM Files
- Familiarity with Mainframe Utilities such as IDCAMS, SORT,



and File Manager

Database

- Experience in DB2 database development and querying
- Knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning
- Understanding of data modeling and database structures

Development & Support

- Experience in application maintenance and enhancement projects
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to batch processing and production support activities
- Understanding of incident, change, and release management processes

Tools & Methodologies

- Experience with version control and change management tools
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Knowledge of SDLC processes

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Retail domains
- Experience with Endevor, Changeman, or similar Mainframe tools
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
- Familiarity with modernization or migration projects is an added advantage

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
