L2 SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR SECURITY & COMPLIANCE

About the Role

We are looking for a strong L2 System Administrator with 5+ years of hands-on experience, with a strong focus on Endpoint Security, DLP, Encryption, Device Management, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Email Security and IT Compliance.

This is a remote-first, client-facing role. The engineer should be able to independently resolve issues remotely and must be ready to visit client locations whenever remote support is not possible or onsite presence is required.

The candidate should have excellent communication and documentation skills and be capable of guiding L1 engineers.Key Responsibilities

System Administration

- Provide L2 support across multiple client environments.
- Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP and endpoint environments.
- Troubleshoot Windows, macOS, networking, VPN and connectivity issues.
- Handle escalations, root-cause analysis and vendor coordination.

Endpoint Security & Device Management

- Manage EDR/Endpoint Security solutions and security alerts.
- Implement endpoint hardening, patching and vulnerability remediation.
- Manage DLP policies and data protection controls.
- Manage device enrollment, configuration and compliance using Intune, Hexnode, Kandji or equivalent.
- Manage BitLocker, File Vault and endpoint encryption.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace

- Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID and Microsoft Defender.
- Administer Google Workspace / Google Admin Console and Gmail.
- Manage users, groups, licenses, MFA, access controls and security policies.
- Troubleshoot email issues and manage SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
- Support email security, phishing and compromised-account investigations.

Security & Compliance

- Implement and maintain client security controls.
- Support ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, DPDP and Cyber Security requirements.




- Assist with security assessments, audits and evidence collection.
- Identify security gaps and recommend corrective actions.

Client & Team Management

- Act as an L2 technical contact for assigned clients.
- Communicate confidently with IT managers, business owners and users.
- Handle client escalations professionally and take ownership through resolution.
- Guide and mentor L1 engineers and provide technical direction.
- Visit client locations for critical incidents, projects, audits and issues that cannot be resolved remotely.

Tools & Documentation Working knowledge of RMM, ITSM, Endpoint Security and Device Management tools is expected. Experience with tools such as Atera, Freshdesk, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, Intune, Hexnode, Kandji, ManageEngine, SentinelOne, Sophos or equivalent platforms is an advantage.Excellent documentation skills are mandatory. The candidate must maintain clear ticket notes, troubleshooting records, RCA, client infrastructure documentation, security records, SOPs and knowledge-base articles.

Must-Have

- 5+ years of hands-on System Administration experience.
- Strong Windows, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 experience.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
- Good experience with Endpoint Security/EDR, DLP and encryption.
- Experience with MDM/UEM and device compliance.
- Good understanding of identity, MFA and access controls.
- Working knowledge of IT management and security tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Solid client-handling and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to guide L1 engineers.
- Willingness to travel to client locations whenever required.

Remote-first does not mean remote-only. Client visits are required when the situation demands onsite support.
