Role - Data Center Engineer

Skills:
- Respond to customer issues via phone, email, and calls.
- Good command over MS Office (word, excel, and PowerPoint.)
- Proficiency in English.
- Flexibility to work in a variety of shifts as per business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Handling Emails related to day to day DC operations and ensuring proper closure of SR as per defined SLA.
- Providing access and escorting customers and customer vendors/OEMs to their respective DC Areas strictly based on SPOC approval.
- Check physical status /Alerts of any external error/status indicators helping remote customers with the health status of equipment collocated in DC.
- As per customer contracted services and terms, support is to be provided for Inserting customer media, Tapes (CDs, etc.), power-off / Restarting of Switches/Routers/Servers/Firewalls strictly as per SR followed by customer request/approval.
- Monitor physical security control for critical zones.
- Maintain a process for secured/authorized access.
- End-to-end coordination with internal teams & and customers as per requirement for change management and preventive maintenance activity till the closure of activity.
- Checking physical connections of the cables as per customer request.
- Keep track of the Customer Assets installed in the Data Center.
- Facilitate entry and exit of customer equipment. Customer's material management (preparing gate passes and Material data recording for future tracking).
- Handling and vaulting customer media.
- Follow-up and escalation on infrastructure-related support issues.
- Over-seeing work being done by any third party inside the DC floor. Also includes maintaining hygiene as per DC standards.
- Tracking of unused materials inside the staging area and ensuring regular reminders to customers if the material is kept beyond 7 days.
- Network cable Inspection and Replacement as per CTL instruction or customer (As part of the smart Hand support) request.
- Online Hardware troubleshooting support on CTLs Tech team instruction. (Not applicable for customer requests)
- Support to replace power cables and patch chords for customers.
- Cabling of Copper & Fibber patch chords up to 15 Mtrs. of length for cross-connect connectivity
- Visual inspection and confirmation of an asset, the asset location, network port(s), and electrical connection availability. - Is there enough free space in the reserved rack? Are there enough copper/fibber patch ports available?
- Rack commissioning or decommissioning to support project-related activities.
- Coordination with the Facility team to support and close customer issues.
- Providing a remote console to customers to support them for online troubleshooting.
- Coordination with partners for laying X-connect cables inside DC for project-related activity.
- Preparing and sharing monthly and weekly MIS reports with SAMs/TAMs/DC ops manager.
- Verifying Monthly power consumption report along with physical power consumption verification along with customer.
- Preparing CMDB, Customer Dump, and Cross Connect reports every month by the first week of every month
- Coordinating with the Facility Team for Tile cutting, PDU installation, and power ON of racks.
- Tracking device installation along with Rated power during project installation.
- Coordinating with the Project Manager to track the project implementation is as per SOW and BOQ.
- Helping Vendors and customers on the ground throughout the project phases.
- Supporting the Product team with the feasibility of cable route and for space and power in the shared rack for new cross-connect and shared rack requirements.
- Support and coordinate with the vendor for current device installation during the operations phase and ensure the device is within contracted power.
- Ensuring power cabling and labeling are done by the vendor for new cross-connect installation
