Job Summary The In-Charge – O&M; will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance coordination, process optimization, production planning, and performance of the Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant. The incumbent will ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations while achieving production targets, maximizing iron recovery, maintaining product quality, and ensuring compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations

- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant.
- Ensure continuous plant operation with maximum equipment availability and minimum downtime.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets in line with business objectives.
- Monitor plant performance and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve operational efficiency.
- Optimize plant throughput, recovery, and overall productivity.

Process Optimization

- Monitor and optimize the beneficiation process, including:
- Crushing & Screening
- Ore Washing & Scrubbing

- Grinding

- Hydrocyclones

- Jigging

- Spiral Concentrators

- Magnetic Separators (LIMS/HIMS)
- Thickening & Clarification

- Dewatering Systems
- Optimize process parameters to maximize Fe recovery and minimize tailing losses.
- Monitor slurry density, water balance, and reagent consumption.
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Planning & Coordination

- Prepare and execute production plans based on ROM availability.
- Coordinate closely with Mining, Quality, Dispatch, and Maintenance teams.
- Ensure uninterrupted feed and smooth plant operations.
- Minimize production losses and process interruptions.

Maintenance Coordination

- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment health, reliability,



and plant availability.
- Plan shutdowns and maintenance schedules in coordination with Mechanical and Electrical teams.
- Ensure timely availability of critical spares and consumables.

Quality Assurance

- Ensure production of iron ore concentrate as per customer specifications.
- Monitor Fe grade, silica, alumina, moisture, and other quality parameters.
- Coordinate with laboratory personnel for quality monitoring and process improvements.
- Maintain quality records and implement corrective actions for deviations.

Safety, Health & Workplace (HSE)

- Ensure strict adherence to all statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Monitor tailings disposal, water recovery, and environmental compliance.
- Drive a strong safety culture with the objective of achieving Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI).

Team Leadership

- Lead and supervise operators, supervisors, technicians, and contract manpower.
- Plan shift deployment, manpower utilization, and workforce scheduling.
- Train employees on SOPs, process operations, and safety practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and support capability development.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and operational reports.
- Maintain shift logs, equipment performance records, and maintenance history.
- Monitor plant KPIs and prepare MIS reports for management review.
- Ensure accurate documentation of operational and maintenance activities.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mineral Processing, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Diploma holders with significant relevant experience in Iron Ore Beneficiation may also be considered.

Experience

- 8–15 years of experience in Iron Ore Beneficiation Plants.
- Proven experience in operating and managing beneficiation circuits.
- Experience in Greenfield Projects, Plant Commissioning, Brownfield Expansion, or Capacity Enhancement will be an added advantage.
- Experience in integrated Mining & Beneficiation operations is preferred.
